been betrayed
by words that seemed to care
been betrayed
by love that wasn’t there
been betrayed
by friends i thought were fair
and i simply do not know what to do

been betrayed
for thirty pieces sold
been betrayed
by a kiss so hot and cold
been betrayed
did not fit the mold
and i simply do not know what to do

it’s easy to believe
in what seems strong
what looks so right
often turns out wrong
put too much faith
where it don't belong
how can you know what’s true and blue

been betrayed
expelled from the womb
been betrayed
by a race that won’t make room
been betrayed
as they eulogized at my tomb
and i simply do not know what to do


everthing i touch will change tomorrow
hold it too tight and it brings you sorrow
the time we’re livin in we only borrow
the hours and minutes are so few

by what i need the most

near to giving up the ghost

just like the lord of host
and without him
