My Friend
Jeseppi Trade Wildfeaher ©5/29/96
you have always cared for me
always looking out after my hide
my friend
you are always there for me
nothing could keep you from my side
my friend
there has never been another
so faithful or so true
there has never been another
friend like you
you have always heard my cry
in the night when the day is done
my friend
i see you in my mournings
you are like the warm glow of the son
my friend
there could never be another
who could do the things you do
there will never be another friend like you
golden calves
are playing all around us
inviting us to covet all we see
as everything we touch just
turns to powder
there is nothin like the friend
you are to me
wonder why i waited
so long to tell you how i care
or why i hesitated
to sing these words
to a friend so rare
even when i turn from you
in your pain you still hold me so high
my friend
forgiving me for all i’ve done
saying there’s no need to cry
my friend
in the moments or in waning hours
i’ll be there to help you make it through
there will never be
another friend like you
you have always cared for me
always looking out after my hide
my friend
you are always there for me
nothing could keep you from my side
my friend
there has never been another
so faithful or so true
there has never been another
friend like you
