Peace of Mind

i find comfort
and peace of mind
in the solice of my day
sometimes i work
sometimes i weep
sometimes i kneel down just to pray

can’t see the future
don’t want the past
it is now i need to find
a place where all my
lifetime stress and sorry
will loosen up and unwind

at times i got nobody
i lay those lonesome feelings behind
got someone ever with me
my best friend my peace of mind

when i call her
in the middle of the night
when my heart is filled with pain
sometimes i cry out
and she stretches over me
when i’m caught in the pouring rain

then my eyes open with the sunrise
it all comes clear in her design

will come a time
when my teary eyes will fail
my weary soul won’t stand so tall
lord keep me walking
through your promised land
i will not stumble then or fall

carry me over
sweet jesus
everything else i lay behind
