how long you gonna ‘spise your mother
how long you gonna wait on some other
whose telling you lies

how long you gonna carry your burden
how long you gonna pretend it ain’t hurtin
how long you gonna deny what is certain
wearing a disquise

she’s standing right in front of you and me
wisdom is plain to see
to love the lord is what we need to do
and your neighbor like you love you

nothin the history of the world has ever shown
a greater freedom from the bondage of flesh and bone
nothin that mankind has ever known
is so wise

this does not seem appealing to the lost
who choose vengence and hatred
at your cost
now who has been duped
a double cross
is painted in their eyes

but we do not have to settle any score
that’s not what we come here for
let him judge who can see so much more
